We want to see every child access to education. We want to be sure that there is no child is let behind!!
![]() Not every where has school in Battambang province. Esepcially the remote districts along Khmer- Thai Border has a limit number of school and teachers because it is remote and teachers not use with the environment (teachers often move back to town). PKO found some villages in Sampov Loun district don't have school but there are alot of children who are on schooling age but still have no opportunity to access to education. PKO is implementing a Community Based Eduation Project in two villages of Sampov Loun District, by mobilize the community to build the cottage to use as the temporary school. The community contributed the a pice of wooden to make wall and labor to construct the cottage and PKO paid for zinc and nails to complete the temporary schools. PKO recruited the community people and trained on pedagogic to be the temporary teachers who providing the class to the children following the national curriculum. Our project officers conducted the visit twice time a month to give the on job training to those community teachers. Currently this project is starting to have two temporary schools in two villages which cover around 250 children (from grade 1- 4). The children received also the school kits and school uniforms from PKO to use for their study. The villages that we are working for, are locating deeply in the middle of the forest where there is no road accessible and no any infrustrutures at all. Those families were the former Khmer Rough, displaced families, migrated from Battambang City and other provinces in order to have land for farming because living in town they had no house and no land. So they decided to live in the forest in order to get free land to make farm. Beside giving the opportunity to the children to get education, we also organized the training sessions to the communities about water & sanitation, about the prevention from Malaria, Typhoids, Dengue fever...etc. Our project team conduct the home visit to the home of the children in order to talk their parents about the child rights, health, value of education and discussing with them about their daily life. ![]() ![]() |
