Moch Ranin
Ms. Moch Ranin is a 23-year-old fourth-year Human Resource Management student at the University of Management and Economics (UME). She lives in Sdey Krom Village, Prek Luong Commune, Ek Phnom District, Battambang Province. Raised in a family of four, Ranin's mother is the sole provider for the household. Due to financial hardship, she could not afford to enroll in additional English or computer courses, despite knowing these skills were essential for her education and future career.
The Challenge
Before joining the Future Leaders Center (FLC) Scholarship Program, Ranin struggled with limited knowledge of English and computer skills. These gaps made it more difficult to keep up with university studies, reduced her confidence, and limited her opportunities for employment and communication. She wanted to improve herself but lacked the financial resources to access quality training.
PKO's Response
Through the FLC Scholarship Program, Ranin received comprehensive training in computer skills, English, and soft skills, as well as career development support. She also had the opportunity to participate in an internship, where she gained valuable hands-on experience. The program not only strengthened her technical knowledge but also helped her build confidence, improve communication, and prepare for the professional workplace.
Change & Impact
The scholarship has had a significant impact on Ranin's personal and professional development. Her academic performance has improved, and she has become more confident in communicating with others. She has learned to think more strategically, plan for her future, and reduce the financial burden on her family by preparing herself for employment. Most importantly, she now believes in her own abilities and is willing to embrace new opportunities, even when they seem challenging.
Remaining challenges: Although Ranin has made remarkable progress, she recognizes that she still needs to continue developing her knowledge, practical experience, and professional skills. She believes that lifelong learning will help her become more competitive in the job market and achieve her long-term career goals.
