Veasna Socheata: Finding Confidence Through Learning and New Opportunities
Veasna Socheata improved her English and computer skills through FLC, alongside public speaking, career guidance, and internship support. She developed a clearer life plan and greater confidence while continuing to balance studies, work, and personal responsibilities.

Veasna Socheata
Ms. Socheata is a 20-year-old third-year Educational Administration student at Preah Sihanouk Raja Buddhist University, Battambang Campus. She comes from Romrong Village, Ta Muen Commune, Thma Koul District, Battambang Province. Before joining the FLC Program, she recognized that her English and computer skills were limited, making her feel less prepared for both university studies and future employment. She wanted to improve herself but lacked access to opportunities that could help her develop these essential skills.
The Challenge
Although studying at FLC did not interfere with her university education thanks to its well-organized schedule, Socheata faced challenges in strengthening her practical skills, particularly in English and computer literacy. She understood that these competencies would be critical for her future career and was eager to find opportunities that would help her become more competitive in the job market.
PKO's Response
Through the FLC Program, she received comprehensive support that extended beyond classroom learning. The program provided training in English, computer skills, soft skills, and public speaking while also connecting her with internship opportunities by helping her find both suitable workplaces and career experiences. In addition, FLC guided her in personal development, future planning, and time management, enabling her to prepare for both academic success and professional life.
Change & Impact
The support from FLC has had a meaningful impact on her personal and professional development. She has significantly improved her English and computer skills while developing greater confidence in expressing her ideas and communicating with others. The program also helped her think more strategically about her future, develop a clearer life plan, and strengthen her ability to manage her time effectively. These experiences have better prepared her for the transition from university to the workplace.
Remaining challenges: Despite her progress, Socheata continues to face the challenge of balancing university studies, work responsibilities, and personal time. She also recognizes the need to keep up with rapidly changing technology while managing daily living expenses and maintaining her health. These challenges motivate her to continue improving her time management and lifelong learning skills.
